For my last snack of the day I had another 1/2 cup of fat free cottage cheese and 5 carrot sticks. This came out to 100 calories, 10 carbs and 12 grams of protein.
Final Stats and Thoughts:
Calories: 1560
Carbs: 217 grams (53% of calories)
Fat: 30 grams (17% of calories)
Protein: 133 grams (30% of calories)
Cholesterol: 285 milligrams
Sodium: 1758 milligrams
Fiber: 37 grams
My final thoughts on day one were that I could probably afford more calories in the form of healthy fats, and a few more healthy carbs. I will shoot for 1800 calories tomorrow and see what comes of that. However, 1560 calories is a good amount for someone trying to lose weight at a good rate. My cholesterol and sodium were UNDER the RDA for Americans and my fiber was right at it. This is something that is very hard for someone to do with the average “American diet”. Adding in some more grains tomorrow and maybe a little more olive oil will only help this plan.
At the end of the night I’m actually not hungry at all, and feeling very satisfied. Oh, and by the way, I ended up drinking close to 2 gallons of water through out the day (1/2 gallon alone during my workout!)
Day One in the books…
